Bose-Einstein Quantum "Fifth State Of Matter" Seen For 1st Time In Space

Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) -- the existence of which was predicted by Albert Einstein and Indian mathematician Satyendra Nath Bose almost a century ago -- are formed when atoms of certain elements are cooled to near absolute zero (0 Kelvin, minus 273.15 Celsius). Science Agence France-Presse Updated: June 11, 2020 04:14 pm IST Paris:  Scientists have observed the fifth state of matter in space for the first time, offering unprecedented insight that could help solve some of the quantum universe's most intractable conundrums, research showed Thursday. At this point, the atoms become a single entity with quantum properties, wherein each particle also functions as a wave of matter. BECs straddle the line between th...

Sexuality and the Internet: Surfing into the New Millennium AL COOPER Abstract This paper highlights a few of the ways that the Internet is having a profound effect on sexuality. For the sake of simplicity, and to better elucidate the points, the Internet's effect on sexuality is divided into the three broad categories: negative patterns, positive connections, and commercial aspects. In addition, three of the key factors that combine to give the Internet its power are delineated. They include Access, Affordability, and Anonymity or as they are called here the " Triple A ". Finally, suggestions for how the field should deal with this phenomena are offered. Published Online:29 Jan 2009: https://doi.org/10.1089/cpb.1998.1.187 Just to know what is triple A effect, this article is worth to read.

Creating a space for children with learning disabilities

3R opens a centre that aims to help those with SLDs With the end of the academic year just a couple of months away, schools have already begun sounding out parents of children with specific learning disabilities to look for other schools for their children. Naturally, that has them worried. Some of them have managed to reach out to Blink Foundation and 3R Research & Technology, in a desperate measure to see if anything can be done at all. “If children with learning difficulties study in schools that are not inclusive or institutions that refuse to pursue necessary interventions, they are often asked to leave at the end of the school year,” says Arun Fernandez , managing director, Blink Foundation, and 3R Research & Technology. 3R inaugurated a new learning centre at Nungambakkam on Monday and Mr. Arun, who was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was 13, said that the centre aims to create a better learning environment for children with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLDs...

Newborn receives pacemaker at ICH

First in government sector in the State, say doctors A baby, less than a month old, has received a pacemaker for a complete congenital heart block at the Institute of Child Health (ICH) and Hospital for Children. Doctors say this is the first neonate to get a pacemaker implanted by a public sector hospital in the State. The next few weeks were filled with anxious moments for Kasturi and her husband, Kuppusamy, an agricultural labourer, as they waited for the birth of their second child. “Doctors told us it was better to wait and watch how the baby comes through with the low heart rate. But he cried as soon as he was born like a normal newborn, was active and feeding well. However, his heart rate continued to be low,” the mother said.
