Viable option - guduvanchery bus stand
date september 6th friday. Since monday is also a holiday, the traffic is expected....why in all fridays, the traffic is expected, either the stretch from urapakkam to perungalathur will be standstill or from tambaram to perungalathur will be standstill. Worse scenario is the ambulance sirens seems like increasing the panic even more to higher level getting stuck amidst the worst traffic. Even in TV flash news, it was displayed when i arrived home that the the highways witnessing traffic from chrompet to tambaram and from perungalathur to maduravoyal bypass upto 5 kms, the vehicles are piling.
Where is alternative thinking? or "situation analysis"?
there is no proper mofussil bus stand in vandalur, urappakkam. but there is a considerable space in guduvanchery, which was mostly unused by less frequented MTC buses. Why not this guduvanchery bus stand was utilised for either SETC buses to pick up the passengers instead of perungalathur? or why not this guduvanchery bus stand was utilised for the private omni buses to pick up the passengers instead of perungalathur?
Atleast the SETC or government buses uses the separate service lane in perungalathur, but the private omni buses are getting parked in the roadside itself i.e., in the NH itself which cause huge pile ups in the traffic.
Or, allow some mofussil buses, except setc to ply via mudichur road and then to join in vandalur rountana to take NH45 atleast after 7 pm daily, which might try to reduce the driver's stress.
You set milestone for fuel consumption, you set milestone for increasing profit, you run the services continuously without giving rest for the drivers to rake up collections, but all this will get compensated and will incur loss, when a bus takes 35 minutes to travel from tambaram to perungalathur.
OK. when this problem will be resolved?
Atleast one satellite channel should capture live telecast of this traffic jam for any one friday night and to share this telecast in all private channels at at time, or to post in social networks to share the video, thereby all "Active social consciousness" tech guys will launch a protest [online only, they dont dare to come on roads/streets], thereby some newspaper will take it in frontpage and somehow any government representative will look into that to solve.
all start with frustration, all people do online booking and waits for their buses, if they got their buses, that's it, the situation gets forgot, but for these people to make wait and getting their buses, it is the other commuters who use regular mofussil buses to reach their destinations daily are suffering very much.
The companies should take some CSR activities, by plying their own buses during weakends, so there is no more need to converge in koyambedu or in perungalathur to migrate for their natives for any festivals, or in weekends. Ofcourse, the government also opened the option to run the services in diwali/pongal season, but the success ratio wasnt analysed properly.
