Project ideas for engineering students-Tamilnadu

Some ideas which will contribute a little development with the system currently exits.
This may be taken as year end projects with or without sponsors, if confidence riding high that you will make it success with your dedication and innovative thoughts.
In the final year B.E degree program [In India, Specifically Tamilnadu] students have to submit a project as one of their exam paper for evaluation. This system, aimed to create interest in research areas and to enhance the communication skills of the student when they complete their discipline. Sadly, our students and the teachers are doing projects which are recycled year by year. But why dont we think to do some attempts, which even failed, would get notice of the governments to undertake the projects with good expertise with our initiatives. Here are some project ideas, more will be coming definitely in the coming days.

Project 1:
You might seen in buses the air horn, which driver uses. It will be in unthinkable position that they will lift up rather pressing down. We can replace this horn with other option. With the revolution of touch devices in mobile and in tablet era, why cant our drivers use this technology. Just a 2.5" square inch panel will do. Touching the panel in any part would blow horn in that vehicle. Or you can define a small area in that 2.5" panel to activate the panel. This should contain some sensor things which might help in detecting the human finger prints and not other playable objects, which make this project a real headache if it is implemented successfully.

A supplement of this project, you can think how the dim/dip or the high/low switch which are currently used in the Heavy Motor Vehicles can be replaced with the same sensor -touch sensitive like devices.
Dont hesitate, if you are very much confident that you can pull up, you can request HMV manufacturers or any transport depot nearby your location to fund this project or atleast allowing the vehicles for testing purposes.

Project 2:
This idea also quite belongs to transport related. Whenever the bus ticket price are changed, the head ache keeps on increasing. Neither the bus conductors receiving any training on how to handle passengers who couldnt able to tender exact fares almost all the time, nor the passengers are provided with any facilities to have considerable change before boarding their buses or planning for travel. The current ticket vending machine should be upgraded in such a way that it also reads a card and deduct price for a ticket of a passenger. The equipment should be of same size as hand held and not to be of more size or extra machine to read this card. There is an additional option to mention whether the ticket was collected through cash or card during the ticket printing, which the conductor has to select the mode. This reduces, the time and also reduces the friction between passengers and conductors during peak hours. Quite a few things should be worked out, but upon discussing with the stakeholders like the transport authority and the banks to take this idea to another level. If the banks are allowing the passengers to use their current credit/debit cards for their journeys, well almost all the problems are solved.

Project 3:
Most travels and car owners are using internet these days. Also, these days, the toll plazas are increasing year by year. These toll plazas are going to be there atleast for our life time and dont know if they stay for next generation also. So let us start from statewise, build an application, where you can pay the toll during a journey and stay clear of paying the cash in the travel. Online Toll Payment System, just login, select the from and to destination. Know how many toll plaza's are there. Pay the amount in total rather paying toll by toll either for one trip or for return journey. Equip the toll plazas with internet facility to view the paid/unpaid status using the entry of car number. This is like an extension of online bus or rail ticket booking. Once this comes to real time, many more enhancements can be done.
